The Senator's Gate is located two blocks East of Forsyth Park and a short walk from Bull Street, the art galleries of Whitaker Street, and many charming squares. The Colonial Cemetery, Broughton Street restaurants, and the City Market area are all within a medium length walk (20 minutes at a normal pace)-with many other attractions and architectural gems along the way--churches, homes, public buildings. River Street shops are also within the range of a medium length walk.  If you prefer, there are buses, carriages, and pedicab services available throughout the Historic District. Other Colonial and Civil War sites are accessible by car or tour bus. The River Street area also boasts paddlewheel sightseeing cruises, and boat access to the new International Trade Center on Hutchison Island.
