Another cooperative evening weather wise contributed to our largest Bombay Tandoor turnout this year. Or maybe was it the $ 40 dinner gift certificate we gave away to Brenda Green who brought the most number of newbies to our event? Plus everyone was so generous that we raised $ 420 for our Rwandan student, Jean Baptiste towards his 8th grade education fees beginning 2010. A couple of our members (Fariba & Gary) will be receiving the local Rwandan produce as gifts for their larger donations. I heard that Melissa, who could not be in attendance, will kick in the rest of the money (about $ 130) to ensure Jean Baptiste will go to school for another year. Thanks to every ones support and we will keep you posted of his progress. We had a good turnout of newbies, especially the vivacious Rebecca, happy Adam as well as Kirsten and Mimi (yes another one!) plus our core members as always turned out in mass numbers. Topics of discussion included my moustache growth sudden disappearance, Halloween parties, cruises to Mexico, plenty of job and business connections and lastly the food. Our gracious host continued to bring out a plentiful supply of wonderful appetizers and of course the bar staff kept up with our beverage requests! Our next event will be the Pre-Thanksgiving Day gathering at Café Montmartre, Reston, VA) on Wednesday, November 18th.
