Forging Quality Social & Business Connections
Yet another stellar crowd of folks turned out to support our third Westin Hotel event in 2010. Our participants had to figure out who was from our social group in the early stages as the hotel guests seem to outnumber us. However, by 6pm or so, we had taken over the venue. Ross Kruglak our professional event photographer was absent (Caps game – huh!) and so I had to pull double duty (apologies for the lack of quality pictures – Ross we need you back!). We enjoyed a terrific evening of quality attendees with a very high proportion of newbies mostly looking for jobs. Checkout the photos on the website & see what a fabulous time we had as well as many of the “newbies” who attended. Topics of discussion included my ever changing look (the beard has gone so has the professorial look), the search for jobs, folks not bringing business cards to a networking event, the newbies crowd, especially those that assume that if they come once that they expect people to help them immediately! Lastly, more praise for the Westin location as well “the mysteries of life” and our missing RSVP (yes) attendees. As usual our core members continue to drive new folks including David Kamminga’s Meetup.com group, McLean Bible Church and specific individuals (Manoj, Robin, Jim, Dan, Kevin & the Chief). Thanks to you all for spreading the word. In most instances the referring core member did not show up with their guests – what’s up with that? Our hosts provided delicious appetizers, both hot and cold. Our next event will be at Café Montmartre, Lake Ann Plaza, Reston, VA on Tuesday, March 23rd. Please invite all the folks you can think of to continue to drive a big turnout and continue 2010 in style and make this year even more successful than 2009! Thank you all for your continued support.
