Wow! What an evening & boy did we kick the year off in outstanding fashion! You guys voted with your feet and let me tell you we had an amazing turnout for our 2nd event at the Westin Hotel. We must have had over 80+ attendees show up and definitely confirm that this venue is where you all want to be. We had a phenomenal gathering of newbies, driven by NortonNet and a special mention to Sophia (newbie) & Jeff Smith (core member) who referred her to come join us. Sophia then invited 3 or 4 others who showed up too. Great job! We had a crowd ready to kick off 2010. The conversation centered on my terrible cough, making several important connections, the value of networking whilst you are still in college and unfortunately jobs too. We still have too many folks without work, so again we were on the hunt for helping each other out. My personal thanks to Ashley Alcorn, (catering manager & it4dc member) for making our event another success with some terrific hot foods. I heard (because I never got a chance to nibble) the scallops wrapped in bacon were delicious. Our hosts prepared a tasty set of munchies that were available for a while. Checkout the photos on the website & see what a fabulous time we had as well as many of the newbies who attended. Our next event will be at Café Montmartre in Reston, VA on Tuesday, January 27th. Please invite all the folks you can think of to continue to drive a big turnout and continue 2010 in style and make it even more successful than before! Thank you all for your continued support.
