The first event of 2008 was an awesome showing by our members indicating we want to have a regular home in Tysons Corner!  We had at least 65 members in attendance with a large showing of “newbies” plus a cadre of our core group of folks that have participated throughout last year and many of the prior years.  We need a healthy insertion of “newbies” every month to keep the conversation and the social gathering stimulating and fresh.  So many thanks to you all for attending and from the plethora of emails I received, I know the event was a personal success for you all.  Can you believe it that we actually closed out Chima at 12 midnight when the Bar Manager had to turn off the lights to get us out of the place!

The atmosphere was terrific, with a lot of noise from the conversations and the introductions.  The food was better (but just not enough).  Allison Pellett of Chima made a valiant effort to ensure we had a successful night by roving around our group, introducing herself to us all and making sure the food was served.  The bar staff too did their part by dedicating a person to see to all of our needs and considering the poor showing of Chima in September 2007, I think they made positive strides to securing our group’s business on a monthly basis.  Next February 5th will see if this service continues.
