Our first Book Signing event in 2008 was successful by the author’s feedback, which was that he sold more books than he had brought along to the signing!  We had a wonderful crowd of supporters and an unusually higher percentage of “newbies” (30% to be exact), which generated a noisy atmosphere for a slow Tuesday evening.   A special guest was Bastian Frenzel who came all the way from Berlin, Germany to participate.  He is a friend of our family and was visiting with us.  Chima’s out did themselves with the food and service.  We had dynamite hors d’oeuvres and plenty of them.  Way to go Allison and Greg!  And the service was terrific too.  Take a look at the pictures.   We had a turnout of about 40 people and I appreciate all those who attended and supported Dr. Earl Smith and his book.  Noteworthy appearances include Pedro Morales, Julie Baker, Renise Leresche, Mike Garvey, Mike Staso, Sandy Hallenbeck, Cheryl Dickenson, Joe Zuccaro, Ariel Goldchain and Sharon Payne to name but a few. Old favourites Andrew Polcha and my wife Valerie were also present!

The atmosphere was terrific and the food thoroughly delicious.  Allison Pellett of Chima was there again too to rally support and to ensure with Greg (Bar manager behind the bar) that we were well taken care of.  I hope that more of you will be present for either or both of our Northern VA activities.
