After what appeared to be a low turnout at the start of the event, the crowds turned out in droves as we created a tremendous, tumultuous raucous sound as attendees dove into scintillating conversations throughout the evening. More folks turned up later as some folks (the die-hards) opted to sit outside in the humidity. The evening brought in a large, diverse group with several newbies coming from a myriad of sources (NortonNet, Beltway Networking website, personal referrals and even one who could not recall his referral). Noticeably absent was David Kamminga and his meetup.com Tech buddies (must be vacation time). We had chatter about my European sojourn, the wonderful DC weather I missed whilst away, politics, movies (I ended up leaving at 8:30pm to see the new Harry Potter film) and job hunting for several new and core members. By the way, Dip’s hair had grown and was no longer a fashionable topic! The food as always was plentiful and delicious and the hospitality from our hosts outstanding. Checkout the photos on the website and see what a merry time we had. Our next event is sooner than you think at Bombay Tandoor (Tysons Corner, VA) on Tuesday, August 11th.
